EXPLORE OUR TRAILS
Explore our well-maintained trails, perfect for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and ATV adventures. With routes of varying lengths and difficulty, there’s something for everyone. From peaceful nature walks to thrilling off-road rides. Climb as high as 1,600 meters (4,600 feet) and take in breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests. Please note that motorized vehicles such as snowmobiles and side-by-side ATVs are not permitted on our trails within the premises to preserve the peaceful environment. If you wish to enjoy these activities, they can be used on Crownland located just outside our property.
HORSEBACK RIDING
Saddle up and explore the beauty of Bearberry on horseback! Bring your own horse and set out on scenic trails that wind through forests and open meadows. Spacious corrals with automatic waterers are ready for your stay, and feed is available for an additional fee. There is everything you need for an unforgettable riding adventure in the heart of nature
WINTER ACTIVITIES
As soon as the first snow falls, our team begins grooming over 25 kilometers of beautiful trails that wind throughout the property. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely glide or a more challenging route, you’ll find trails suited to every skill level. Each path is carefully maintained for both classic and skate-style skiing, ensuring the perfect winter experience. Bring your own skis or rent a complete set right here at Bearberry and set out to explore our snowy paradise.
SNOWMOBILING
While snowmobiling isn’t permitted on our designated trail system, adventure is just steps away! From our property, you can easily access the vast forestry lands beyond that is home to endless kilometers of untouched trails waiting to be explored. Start your ride right from Bearberry and discover the thrill of Alberta’s winter wilderness.
There’s No Shortage of Winter Fun Around Bearberry.
Dog Sledding – Experience the thrill of mushing through the snow on our ungroomed trails or across the frozen James River. Feel the rush of winter air and the joy of adventure as your dogs lead the way through this breathtaking landscape.
Snowshoeing – Strap on your snowshoes and wander through peaceful forests, frozen creeks, and sparkling rivers. Discover hidden corners of nature blanketed in snow and enjoy the quiet beauty of Alberta’s winter wilderness.
Ice Fishing – Cast a line and enjoy a peaceful day at one of the nearby lakes. It’s the perfect way to slow down, soak in the scenery, and maybe reel in a story to tell. Please ask us about local regulations and license information before you go.
Downhill Skiing – Looking for a mountain adventure? World-class slopes await within a scenic three-hour drive such as: Lake Louise, Banff, Jasper, and Kananaskis all offer incredible runs, cozy lodges, and unforgettable views.
BIRD WATCHING
Come and experience the joy of bird watching at Bearberry, where nature sings all around you. Wander through peaceful meadows and along quiet rivers to spot graceful waterfowl like ducks, geese, herons, and swans. Listen for the melodies of meadowlarks, canaries, and blackbirds, or catch a glimpse of majestic eagles and hawks soaring overhead. Whether you’re exploring, relaxing, or reconnecting, every corner of Bearberry invites you to slow down and soak in the beauty of the wild.
WOOD HEATED SAUNA
Crafted from beautiful clear cedar, our sauna offers the perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate. Soft lighting, a window with a peaceful view, and the gentle scent of wood create a warm, calming atmosphere. Inside, you’ll find four comfortable benches, smooth rocks for the perfect heat, air vents for fresh circulation, and a traditional bucket and ladle to complete the experience. When you rent one of our cabins, you’re invited to melt away the day’s adventures in our soothing wood-heated sauna, where relaxation comes naturally, and time seems to stand still.
COZY FIREPLACE
There is something deeply comforting about the crackle of a fire, whether you are gathered around it outside under a blanket of stars or relaxing inside by the glow of the fireplace. The warmth, the flicker of light, and the gentle rhythm of the flames create a sense of peace that feels timeless. Turn down the lights, breathe in the crisp air or the scent of cedar wood, and let the sounds of the fire and nature calm your mind and warm your soul.
NO SHOOTING POLICY
For the safety and enjoyment of all our guests, Bearberry Cabins maintains a strict no-shooting policy on the premises. While we appreciate the rise in outdoor activity advertisements, including shooting, we prioritize creating a peaceful, relaxing environment for everyone. If you're interested in hunting or shooting activities, please explore designated areas outside our property that are permitted for these purposes. Do
- Immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings and respect the natural environment.
- Keep noise levels to a minimum to preserve the tranquil atmosphere for everyone.
- Take care of your pets—always clean up after them, especially while on hikes.
- Be mindful of your personal belongings and take everything with you upon departure.
Don't
- Engage in any shooting activities on the premises; we prioritize a safe and serene environment for all guests.
- Cut down trees or disturb the local wildlife and natural habitat.
- Litter; please use the proper disposal bins to help keep our grounds pristine.
- Leave any pet waste behind—if you're hiking with your dog, please ensure to pick up after them.
- Use quads, ATVs, or snowmobiles on the trails—these vehicles are permitted only on the road leading to Crownland outside the property.
